Studio Roy de Scheemaker

Bringing the wishes and dreams of the client together with the original character of the building. That is basically the starting point of Roy de Scheemaker. The result is always an eye-opener.
“An interior must above all be comfortable. Comfortable living is what matters. Creating a personal paradise for the client ”.
“The collaboration is all about trust, you get to the core of the matter.” He does not impose anything on clients. He takes them to their final goal, a goal they don’t know yet and what they discover along the way. He helps with that. He coaches the client, as it were. “Together we look for the personal style of the client, which I then translate into contemporary living”.
He maintains strict control over the structure. The light, the spatial planning, the lighting plan for the evening, major major interventions such as the kitchen, bathrooms, large fitted wardrobes or sofa. The smaller it gets the more personal it often is. That differs per project. “People sometimes like to find the accessories together, others prefer to do that part themselves”. Sometimes he shows examples, makes sketches, or goes shopping with the client.
His working method is just as straightforward; about three weeks after the first meeting, he has a sketch plan ready. He discusses this with the client. Then he adjusts it to details. He draws up the plan, so that contractors can start calculating for offers. He regularly collaborates with a network of experienced specialists: project managers, architectural draughtsmen and constructors.
If he needs them, he forms a construction team.
