DENOLDERVLEUGELS has designed a beautiful apartment in Amsterdam for a family that has previously lived in various cities around the world. The property fits in perfectly with modern family life. A structure has been made of the existing building that is open and transparent. The connection between the rooms and the floors is optimally utilized.

Although the attic was initially used for people in hiding, in the new situation the attic is involved in a special way with the living space. Centrally located in the apartment is a huge void that brings the daylight to all floors and also connects the whole with each other. To keep a number of elements from the past intact, the authentic beam construction and the old walls of masonry have been preserved. The apartment has a large roof terrace on top, where a large part of Amsterdam can be admired.
