Garages lack identity and emotion
In many cases, the garage appears to be an underserved child among many homeowners. We discovered that garage owners immediately started apologizing as soon as we asked to see the garage. In many cases, the garage was an outright junkyard. In other cases, very nice cars appeared to be parked in emotionless bunkers under or attached to the house. In one case, the basics are in order, there is a floor, walls have been plastered, but the garage is bare and uninspiring. Lighting is often only functional. And not infrequently, the expensive car is outside and the bikes have won the battle for space in the garage.

As it turned out, it didn’t matter whether it was an average residential house with a garage or a large villa: apparently the garage is just a space that is difficult to use. Results of consumer research from one of our partners showed that 80% of those surveyed stated that the garage was found to be the least organized and most difficult room in the house. For about 40% of Dutch cars, there is actually no space left in the garage.
