30 years strong – WaterRower has been designing and manufacturing rowing machines of exceptional quality and unique design since 1988. Designed in the 1980s by Yale University and US National Team rower John Duke.
Responsibly produced – Our verified sustainable hardwoods are sourced from the Appalachian Mountain region of the eastern United States (see map ), where replanting trees at an average factor of 2.29 is faster than harvesting. Research and analysis by the U.S. Department of Agriculture has shown that over the last 50 years, levels of annual timber harvest, in the 344 counties of the Appalachian hardwood lumber region, are significantly lower than the average annual growth rate.
The wood we use is very robust and perfectly suited for the construction of the WaterRower, cushioning shock and vibration and enhancing the unique sense of resistance.
Distinctive – The WaterRower is not only a visual eye-catcher but also a technical highlight. The rowing machine has a compact, rectilinear construction, and by using distinctive, high-quality materials, it fits effortlessly into any environment. The Water Tank provides both visual and audible feedback during the workout with the resistance automatically adjusting to each user. When not in use, the WaterRower can easily be placed upright with a single motion.
Unique – the Water Tank – The heart of every WaterRower is the Water Tank with its ergonomically shaped paddle. This ensures maximum displacement of the water and thus a uniform, shock-free and pleasant resistance. This water resistance is self-regulating i.e. it adjusts to the user’s intensity with each movement. If it moves slowly then the resistance is low, if the speed is increased then the resistance becomes more intense. But the resistance always remains soft and fluid. In real rowing, the rowing boat moves through the water based on muscle power and the rower feels the element of water on the blade of his belt. Water thus provides a familiar and natural resistance when rowing. By using Water as a resistance element, the WaterRower simulates real rowing in a natural way.
Proudly made in the USA – All of our rowing machines are handmade in our factory in Warren, Rhode Island, USA
