High-end interior through unique material plan

The choice of materials in an interior has a major impact on the atmosphere and appearance of a home. Like color, materials and furniture can make a home come alive. Bold combinations with contrasting material choices create a stunning interior design of a residential home.

Bold combinations
There are numerous material choices to be made when furnishing and designing an interior. A living room often consists in the basics of a sofa, a rug, a TV cabinet and home accessories. In this space alone, several choices will have to be made regarding materials. Bold and less obvious choices are the key to an exciting and interesting material plan. Many elements can be combined with each other and reinforce each other. The very materials that you would not easily put together create unique and dazzling interiors.

Contrasting choices
Just as certain colors match well with each other, the same is true of materials. It is important to look for a balance between soft and hard textures. A good materials plan creates balance in an interior. This balance can be achieved through the use of contrasting materials. Textures that match perfectly are leather and wool. The tough look of leather combined with the soft texture of wool creates an attractive interior. Another wonderful combination is wood and concrete. The warmth of the wood combined with the rawness of concrete creates an exciting whole. These contrasting elements create an attractive and playful home.

High-end materials
There are two materials we see a lot of in luxury interiors these days. The first material is velour, also called velvet. Velvet has a luxurious and chic appearance, which is why it can be the ideal material to enhance an interior. From a few accessories to entire pieces of furniture; there are many ways to add this texture to your interior. Another material trend we see returning to the high-end interior design industry is steel. Materials such as copper, brass and gold are commonly seen in home accessories such as vases, but steel doors or plumbing fixtures are also very fashionable. We often see these velvet and metallic textures combined with natural tones. This combination creates a wonderful balance.
