A pleasant surprise
There are those homes that pleasantly surprise you.
This property in the Belgian town of Poppel, I got very excited, especially because I stepped into a completely different world. Upon opening the front door, the welcome is immediately cozy, you step directly into the house, without being preceded by an entrance/hallway. Personally, I like that, it makes you feel welcome right away.
The casual mix of rustic decor - interwoven with a pleasant touch of Bohemian living - immediately made me feel relaxed, somewhat summery, even though it's foggy and cold outside. You feel at home, it's a nice atmosphere and the combinations are matched with an eye for detail so that colors, accessories and floors blend smoothly. RAW Stones' Abbey and Waaltjes floors give the interior a calm, powerful look, which also makes many accessories look calmer, and darker shades, in particular, seem to blend in better.
I always find the art of decorating is using natural materials, which always give an interior a clean, but also warm look. Wood, furniture with a worn appearance, floors and paints with natural ingredients, make you get a warm, powerful whole where "tranquility" can be used as an all-encompassing expression for this particular object as far as I am concerned. Compliments Sophie, you definitely made it something special.
