Compact swimming paradise

The client’s request was to integrate a pool with pool house into a limited backyard. The trick was to become one with the lower, existing terrace.
A staircase and walls bridge the difference in height. The planting accentuates this transition. At the same time, the terrace is framed so that it lies in the greenery.

Here and there in the greenery around the pool are dwell spaces. They provide balance between the pool and the rest of the garden. Slate trees add privacy to the pool area.

Swimming pool with pool house

The precast concrete pool is finished with bluestone. The material links to the finish existing terrace. The pool house is made of wood, blending into its surroundings. The open part of the pool house faces the house. Thus, the center of gravity is away from the house and out of line of sight from the house.
When choosing plants, the landscaper looked for color at different times during the year. Multi-stemmed trees bring three-dimensionality to the garden.
