In a beautiful spot on Lake Maggiore, Studio Roy de Scheemaker, in collaboration with De Pander BV, transformed a historic villa into a contemporary, luxurious, comfortable and personal paradise, in which the rich past can still be felt and seen, and Italian and Dutch craftsmanship form a perfect marriage. The spacious villa dates back to the 17th century and in the past served as the summer residence of the residents of an upper castle. With respect for the rich past, the layout and interior were given a major overhaul, so that the overall appearance is in line with contemporary times and the wishes and lifestyle of the residents. Under the guidance of a local construction manager, local craftsmen – familiar with traditional construction and materials from the region – worked proudly to beautify the villa. For the many furniture customizations in the home, Roy de Scheemaker engaged De Pander BV. The designer applied natural materials such as wood and natural stone and natural color palette in the home.
