Country House On The Water

The set-up is completely garden-oriented and offers a quiet place to retreat to and enjoy the view over the garden and water. The Poltrona Frau Grandtorino sofas are made of a combination of saddle leather, calf leather and a velvet fabric. The armchair is also finished in Poltrona Frau leather. Curtains from Zimmer + Rohde and tables from Alivar. A lot of light and a sand-colored color palette was the wish. Yet color has been added with the painting on the floor. It is a hand-knotted carpet in India and consists of wool and silk with a high / low construction.

In summer, both the entire facade and the roof can be opened and the indoor space becomes an outdoor space. I was also allowed to design the routing and layout of the adjacent garden. The sturdy outdoor kitchen, the benches and the shutters are custom made. The old colorful waaltjes were found at a wholesaler in Brabant. These are laid in a special mortar and underneath is underfloor heating. The shutters have been added to the conservatory to give the inner facade an even more outdoor feeling. The large table of 380 cm is used intensively by the many guests who come to enjoy the best food that the resident conjures up on the table.
