Dwelling 21
This 1908 military stable has been converted and restored into seven luxury lofts and a nursery. The choices for interventions do justice to the special architecture of this riding shed. At the heads on the north and south sides, the original appearance was restored and the historic colors were applied. In the eastern side facade, large glass facades have been used in a modern design language which gives a surprising amount of light. Outdoor spaces are planned in the loggias in the roof and Delft sidewalks on the trotting field side. The steel Polonceau truss with a span of nearly 20 meters, the original window frames and wooden beams and the staggered volumes make these homes truly special. What is particularly striking are the high ceilings and the staircases that connect the various rooms. Views from the first floor to the ceiling, over eleven meters high. Daylight reaches all rooms through windows in the facade and roof.
