English cottage in the Gooi
English allure meets Dutch sobriety. Atmospheric, characteristic and modern those are the key words for this beautiful cottage. The residents: a couple with a passion for beautiful things, travel and cars. A thorough renovation preceded before the residents moved into the house.
Historical and characteristic
A house with a lot of history and a rich history. For example, the exterior facade of the house remained in its original state, but inside all the walls were taken out to expand the space.
Old meets new
As soon as you step outside from the old interior, the first thing you notice is that everything fits together seamlessly. The smallest detail has been thought about and the space looks cozy and comfortable. The old brick wall shines among the materials: concrete, wood and steel.
Indoor Garden
The courtyard garden is the heart of the house and provides the connection to the garage which is also the setting for the Porsche 911. Lounging is what residents do on the lounge elements by KOEN by Royal Design. To extend the seating area the
dotty beanbags by Roolf living
can be added. The
cocotte table by Fermob
is convenient to use due to its lightweight material.
Right choice of material
The large black steel facade is used on both sides at both the garage and the dining room. To reflect the color black in the lounge furniture, the color black was chosen to be subtle. For example, Roolf living’s beanbags come in a chic anthracite fabric. The fresh green of the bamboo plants creates a modern bohemian effect.
