Former riding school in Landau
The charm of the old, the brilliance of the new: a selected (FIN) Project!
Many a proud quadriplegic was once honored here – this time the monumental riding school in Landau itself was honored: the building selected for the “Day of Architecture” 2019, was converted for art history and fine arts students at the University Koblenz-Landau. The first floor now houses classrooms and workshops; the two upper floors house open, loft-like studios.
Contrasts between new and old define the architecture – inside and out. The window frames play a central role in this. The large FIN-Project Windows in aluminum-aluminum come from the Nova-line Plus-Design: wide glass surface, lots of light! When it came to thermal insulation, by the way, no compromises were made: the building is a KfW Efficiency House 70!
