Garden of the Year 2014
The city garden in Woudrichem – which measures some 600 m2 – had long been in the care of De Rooy Hoveniers, but over time the owners wanted a different look. More contemporary, easier garden maintenance, with a place for the dog, a wood storage area and a wood-burning fireplace, which was also designed by De Rooy Hoveniers. It has become a contemporary garden with clean lines in the paving, combined with lush borders.
We created a window with a hard green stripe in the space, in the form of a Carpinus betulus trimmed in block form. This keeps the less attractive elements out of sight and actually accentuates the view of the church. The boundary of the beech hedge combined with the trees creates a secure feeling.
The garden design and landscaping of this city garden in Woudrichem, were both realized by De Rooy Hoveniers.
