Green brings perspective

This stately home has a large front yard as well as backyard, but the building zone only extends behind the home to a limited extent. That required some puzzling to get the pool and shower area within the allowable area anyway. We finally chose to lay the pool across, with a terrace on both sides. On one of these terraces we provided the pool house.

Columnar trees around the pool and in the backyard still bring perspective and guide the eye to the greenery beyond.

Columnar trees also return in the front yard. Here they emphasize the stateliness of the home and guide the path to the front door and driveway. Planting beds break up the grandeur of the front yard. The materials for the paths are porphyry cobblestones, for the terraces we used Chinese granite.
