Harmonious Jigsaw

Romantic, ladylike and yet a bit of rock and roll. The dream house of Candy Dulfer in Amsterdam.
She was the support act for Madonna, played with greats such as Prince and Beyoncé and has appeared in television shows such as Good Morning America and X Factor. In addition to all this glitter & glamor, Candy Dulfer was looking for solidity. She found her dream house in IJburg in Amsterdam. The challenge was to fill in the white spaces with large windows and lots of daylight.
 
So much light in the house is of course beautiful, but in combination with all those white walls it also got a bit chilly. Color had to come into the house. A dark palette was chosen in order to create tension. If you look closely, you can see that nothing in this house was just bought. Originality shines through everywhere. Lilac was chosen as the counterpart to dark walls. The source of inspiration was a fashion photo with a lace dress in black with lilac.
