Light solid oak flooring in a modern classic interior

For this house in Blaricum, Theo van Epen provided parquet flooring on the upstairs and downstairs, as well as covering the staircase. The solid oak floor on the upper floor is 19 inches wide and was brushed and white oiled for finishing. The same type of parquet floor was used for the first floor, but a wider variety. The light coming through the large windows here lets the white oiled oak floor shine. The wood is of 1-bis quality, which is quite quiet, but does allow for small knots. As a result, the floors and stairs are not completely sleek and fit perfectly with a modern classic interior.
