Luxury townhouse Wassenaar

This very spacious mansion in Wassenaar, measuring no less than 13 meters wide, with 8 rooms, Boudewijn Roest, designer and owner of the Dutch design sanitaryware brand Marike, has completely taken care of and transformed it into a true design piece. In line and thought of the architect of this residence, Co Brandes* (1884-1955), Roest has remodeled this atmospheric 1930s home to perfection. Not only was sustainable remodeling done (energy class A) with an eye on the future, but the best possible high-quality materials were used to create the most beautiful and serene luxury home possible.

Inside and outside a whole
Through the entrance with Carrara marble floor we enter directly into the spacious living kitchen with cozy fireplace. This is a nice place to be. This is where family and friends gather, cook elaborately and dine at the large dining table. The impressive kitchen island has a Silestone kitchen top in warm white and gray tones and is equipped with a 5-burner Gaggenau cooktop and Verenna exhaust system. The sleek white kitchen wall with Gaggenau built-in steam oven and oven-microwave combo is a solid resting point in the total. From the living kitchen, immediate contact with the green backyard is felt. The French doors emphasize the beautiful transition between inside and outside. The marble of the kitchen floor extends into the tiles of the patio.

A true eye-cather in the stunning kitchen is the black wall. This ensures that the kitchen and spacious living room are separated from each other without losing sight of the spatial experience of the house. Where the wall on the kitchen side has a beautiful integrated display case and TV, the wall on the living room side offers a large fireplace with sleek hearth. The tastefully furnished living room at the front of the house, with spacious sitting area offers a nice place to unwind and peer endlessly into the flames of the fireplace.

The living room on the garden side, also a spacious TV conservatory, is equipped with high-quality dolby surround audio system and very important; very good soundproofing, so that no one is disturbed by the shooting scene of James Bond or the beautiful outbursts of Adèle.

The two children’s bedrooms, guest room/office and spacious (children’s) bathroom are located on the second floor. The stairs, from the downstairs entrance, lead to a large spacious landing, where the family’s art, has been given pride of place.
