The charming Haarlem townhouse underwent a thorough renovation commissioned by studio strack and was metamorphosed by interior designer Gwen Hoopman and the participating top parties into a high-quality, contemporary and eye-catching dream home. The interior breathes light, space, warmth and experience and enhances the quality of life of the residents.

As soon as you enter, you notice the bright character of the home. The tall, double doorway leading to the living area has plenty of glass, so the entrance to the townhouse is amply warmed by natural light. The stylish oak flooring - laid in a Hungarian point pattern - adds to the pleasant character and also forms the stylish base of the living spaces on the first floor. On the street side, gwen situated the living room, where luxury (custom) furniture provides a comfortable setting. The organic shapes of the arma- tures give the space sophistication and playfulness.

Luxury and natural materials
Between the living room and kitchen, Gwen designed a special see-through fireplace, which provides security in both spaces, but also plays a major role in the open and light character of the home. After all, the spacious harmonica fa├žade - opening in its entirety - ensures that this ge-

Part of the charming home is bathed in natural light. Luxurious and natural materials like walnut and ceramic give the custom kitchen a warm and inviting character. As in the living room, round shapes - seen in the chairs and lighting - create a pleasant softness in the overall look.

Bathroom as an eye-catcher
The eye-catcher on the second floor is the luxurious bathroom, in which large wall tiles by Porcelanosa, the freestanding bathtub and the custom made washbasin merge in a perfect way. The wood used in the horizontal alcove and on the washbasin adds warmth to the space and creates a stylish link with the wood in the custom kitchen. The residents' inviting bedroom completes the home, and here too they enjoy a wonderful connection to the outdoors.
