Modern garden with concrete look roof
As is the case with so many people, this little backyard in Maarheeze had been the domain of the children. Children become teenagers and then it is time for a garden metamorphosis. “We like to sit outside, preferably well into the autumn!”, said the clients during the first meeting. And now you can.
Garden architecture on the square meter
In a small garden, space is often overstretched. Our landscape architect Gert-Jan Schouwenaar has forged the various functions into a whole in this garden, which is less than 100 m2, in a balanced way. The eye-catcher is the covered terrace, which is made up of walls and surfaces in a dark and light concrete look. Note that this canopy has no posts! Dimmable spots, sockets and connections for the internet have been concealed in the walls and ceiling. Right next to this family terrace is a sturdy fireplace: the Burning Barrel.
Garden design with modern materials
The roof has an industrial look due to the concrete look material. It looks like concrete, but it is made of low-maintenance polyester, produced by Luxcom. Polyester walls are colorfast and easy to keep clean. The ‘piecework’ does not freeze off either. All kinds of facilities can be fitted in this material in advance, such as lighting, electricity, etc. The drainage pipes run through the inside of the wall. So nicely cleaned up!
Atmospheric decoration of the garden
A large tree trunk table has been placed as a counterpart to the firm and sturdy roof. The decoration through the wall with the narrow wooden slats is also very atmospheric. The entrance door is concealed almost invisibly in this wall. The planting areas are large and large groups have been used. Maintenance is thus reduced to a minimum. From the interior you can look at a nice large planting area in summer and winter.
