Modern wellness area Essen

For a Dutch couple living in Essen – just across the border in neighboring Belgium – Erik van Gelder breathed new life into the existing garden. The most important requirements were a spacious terrace near the kitchen, and a covered wellness area. The result of the makeover is amazing. The garden exudes class and quality, and adds a living space with a special added value.

Stylish terrace You can enjoy breakfast on the spacious terrace near the kitchen. A trendy wind and weather resistant sail creates a nice shady spot. Due to its slender design and the separate shadow pattern, the sail also gives a nice accent to the garden environment. From the kitchen you look at a wall with integrated sofa. The murmur of the waterfall brings you into a holiday atmosphere. To the left of the terrace is a border with boxwood bulbs. The smooth orbs in between give a fairytale glow in the evening.

In higher spheres The platform is slightly higher than the seating space because of the built-in jacuzzi. The warm wood continues with an elegant curvature on the wall, which gives an almost sensual appearance. Erik ensured a strong connection between inside and outside. In this way you can create more openness and light or security and shelter with the movable slats as desired. The wall of wooden posts with a little space in between also provides shelter and at the same time looks through.

Finally, nature also plays an artistic role in this exceptional canopy. The elongated niche along the jacuzzi gives a glimpse of the generous greenery behind it. And the vertical green composition of reindeer moss is created by nature as a painting.
