Panoramic splendor by the sea
Devos Interieur, in collaboration with interior designer Wendy Verstrepen, provided the interior of this duplex apartment on the coast. The entire design had only one source of inspiration: the sea. The floors and walls were not finished smooth, but were worked with a mineral stucco technique to approximate the color and texture of sand. Against that neutral and serene coloring of the walls, the table’s spectacular Patagonia granite stands out beautifully. The combination of different materials gives the project a high-end look where everything is right. By working closely together with the client and the external interior designer, everything still remains one whole. Thus, harmony is maintained between the different elements and materials, each with its own identity.
The loft above the living room is bordered by vertical slats in oak, a material that was also used for the office. A few warm color accents in the cushions by Belgian brand Evolution21 and the nightlight are enough to take the natural color palette up a level.
For the color palette in the master bedroom, we based it on the natural stone, and we continued the black and sand tones throughout the space. Arte’s embossed wallpaper is an eye-catcher.
In the bathroom, the neutral mortex contrasts with the accented marble around sink and tub. The space exudes tranquility, which is especially welcome after a busy work week.
The Trinity desk, the Marilyn chair and the Icaro night table by Italian brand Baxter, a fixture at Devos Interieur, have a vintage look thanks to their finish in leather. This material wrongly has a cold and cool image, but in this nabuck version, the furniture takes on a warm and soft feel.
