“Go ahead and enjoy!”, The residents told garden and landscape architect and designer Erik Knops. Of course he did it with love and pleasure for them. The patio garden eventually became an exclusive space where every detail was thought out. An outdoor living room that they can enjoy all year round. A place with a stylish design, a strategically placed outdoor fireplace and several places to sit and have a drink. There is a serene peace where moments of atmospheric cosiness arise.

With a surface area of ​​95 square meters, the garden of the patio bungalow is not very large, but every square centimeter has been thought about. “This project was a complete metamorphosis!” Says Erik. “The previous garden was laid out more than ten years ago but no longer met the needs. It was a fairly wild and almost only green back garden, which, moreover, was not involved in the home. There was, however, a full view from the house, so it had to be a garden that is a feast for the eyes in both summer and winter. The residents wanted an outside that they could use intensively. With many places to sit comfortably and with the possibility to use it even during cooler periods. ”

Long evenings
In their search for a garden designer, they found Erik because of his sleek and special gardens and in particular because of his digital 3D presentations. “Often people already know very well what they like,” he says, “but they are looking for someone who can translate their wishes and convert them into reality. This was also the case with these residents. It had to be a place where they could enjoy themselves, alone or with friends. An outdoor area that feels like an interior in terms of atmosphere. “So go ahead!”, They therefore gave me as a stimulating message, because they wanted to let me free with my own ideas for their patio. It is of course very nice for a creative person if you get that confidence. Every outdoor space is unique and requires a customized design. I always make a 3D video presentation for my clients, a tour of the design, so that they can see clearly how their garden will look from all angles. What you see is what you get! For this patio I designed a garden where there is peace, but where there is something to see everywhere.
