1930s home upgraded to 21st century standards

In 2017, Lianne van Engelen, interior designer and driving force behind Studio Linn, was approached about the complete renovation and remodeling of a 1930s home in Oisterwijk. The owners requested a home with an authentic look, equipped with all the gadgets of our time. Also in the area of security. For door hardware that not only fit the atmosphere of the house, but also met the latest security requirements, Studio Linn approached Intersteel for a well-reasoned recommendation.

Authentic and modern
The entire house was completely gutted, fitted with new lighting, flooring, double glazing and completely new electrics. The structure of the home also changed. Spaces were transformed and given a new, more appropriate function. Lianne van Engelen explains, ‘It was important not to lose the authentic atmosphere of the house. Therefore, we combined new, modern materials with original elements, including the interior doors.’ At the end of 2018, the construction process was completed and the home delivered.

Stylish and up to date door hardware
Intersteel was approached by Studio Linn to advise on door and window hardware for the home in Oisterwijk. Maarten ter Horst of Intersteel says, “The hardware not only had to fit the style of the house, but also meet today’s security requirements. After studying all the floor plans, frame and door details, the chrome/ ebony hardware from the Ton 400 series was chosen by mutual agreement.
