The skyline of Tilburg, not that crazy
Wellness in the middle of the city, is that still possible? A question that we have come to see as a challenge within this project. The roof terrace that we are talking about is located on the edge of the center of Tilburg, on seven floors. The penthouse to which the roof terrace belongs has a luxurious and relaxed appearance which we saw as the basis for the design of the roof terrace. In this way interior and exterior could be connected with each other. But how do you approach that conceptually?

A roof terrace with Ibiza Feeling
Ibiza has different faces. In the North of Ibiza you see, for example, that luxury and nature go hand in hand, without biting each other. That gave us inspiration for the interpretation of the roof terrace. A choice for the combination of, among other things, conifers, ornamental grass and a beautiful shade cloth creates a private atmosphere. At times when it gets a little colder, the trees provide shelter and the outdoor fireplace provides warmth. The late hours in the lounge corner can also be used in this way.

Wellness
The presence of wellness cannot be missed when we talk about the Ibiza feeling. The terrace is therefore equipped with a jacuzzi. The inner person is also taken care of by installing an outdoor kitchen. In short, all facilities for maximum relaxation. They only have a few days of vacation a year, but such a roof terrace makes home coming a little less painful.

Strategic placement of green
Designing a roof terrace requires a lot of thinking. Planting and associated soil are often heavy and cannot simply be placed at any place. For this, the roof load must be calculated and the load-bearing walls must see clearly. These bearing walls can then be used for installing green and heavier components. For example, think of the jacuzzi.
