Sleek small garden with pool and porch

A swimming pool seemed impossible in this garden in Waalre. Smart landscaping offered the solution! Sleek and modern solution.

Sleek and stylish
In this garden of less than 100 m2, a pool seemed an impossible wish. “Again, we started thinking from the possibilities, not the limitations. And part of the garden is underground. So there were some snags. But nothing is impossible,” says the landscaper. The bathtub is about 6×3 meters. The use of a jet stream allows for plenty of swimming. Get your chest wet!

Sleek porch
The porch was designed by landscape architect Gert-Jan Schouwenaar in the style of the residence. Thus, the canopy seems to be an integral part of the dwelling house. The canopy includes various amenities. An enclosed gas fireplace provides a lot of heat. For the chilly, the heaters on the ceiling can also be turned on. To complete it, dimmable LED spotlights were mounted in the roof.

Smooth transition inside outside
The flat roof was made at the same height as the second floor volume. So seen from inside, the ceiling just continues outside. A 70-centimeter wall partially hides the pool from view from the living room. In winter, the roll deck is permanently on the pool and is not pretty to look at. The wall then camouflages just enough.
