Steel mirrors in bathroom
Once a gymnasium of a former monastery in the historic heart of Amsterdam. Now a bright, spacious family home with split-levels yet a sense of intimacy. A mix of used and high-quality finishes was chosen. One constant was the way the structure took shape. The steel trusses and wooden beams were a given and were maintained throughout the house. Several sections of the roof and facades were opened to let in lots of natural light. More than 100 lighting elements were included to create beautifully lit spaces throughout the home. On the top floor came two spacious, luxurious bathrooms, one of which was for the daughters.
