The village feeling in an apartment
Overlooking the greenery of a park and situated in a former hotel, this apartment is special in itself. The original decor was quite classic, but Sels’ interior designer Lieve De Pooter was allowed to give it a contemporary twist. Yet the sleek decor is so warm and homey that it does not detonate with the eclectic facade of the 1903 building. Natural materials such as wooden parquet and natural stone, give an authentic feel but are applied without frills.
“The kitchen is attached to the living space and, with its exceptional design and separate breakfast nook, is nothing short of a villa kitchen.”
Because spaces are linked, the large apartment feels like one open home without divided rooms. The kitchen is attached to the living space and, with its exceptional design and separate breakfast nook, is nothing short of a villa kitchen. The master bedroom is directly adjacent to the living room, but due to a concealed wall this is not noticeable.
For Sels, the client’s experience during the process is as important as the end result. The interior designers at Sels act as an extension of the client’s creativity, turning their wishes into reality in a professional manner. In doing so, they do not provide a collage of out-of-the-box ideas, but complement the client’s aesthetic image with their own surprising designs.
