This villa, located on a green canal in Heemstede, was in need of a thorough renovation. The new owners wanted to keep the characteristic details and expand the house with a study and garage. The villa has been completely gutted and then rebuilt.

On the ground floor, all rooms are connected to each other, making the width of the house tangible. The workroom forms a modern transparent link between the house and the new garage (built in the old style). The beautiful wooden roof construction on the floor was deliberately left in sight when the thatched roof was renewed. Furniture, upholstery and colors were chosen together with the resident, Pieternel Kuijpers of Concept4interior.
