Wellness garden Poppel

Before we start with a garden design, we analyze a number of important factors, such as the home, the surrounding landscape and the lifestyle of the client. We use these factors as input to further develop the concept.

The lifestyle is central
The surrounding landscape of this villa consists of a wooded area, a landscape where you quickly unwind. Not unimportant for a client with a successful company. The garden design also takes into account the client’s lifestyle. A garden must provide the necessary relaxation. That is why we have included a number of wellness elements in the design, such as an infinity pool, outdoor shower, Jacuzzi and various places to relax.

The connection between garden and villa
In this garden design we align with the recognizable style of Eric Kuster. His team took care of the interior and renovation of this villa in Poppel. The color schemes, cool warm materials and the stylish interior have been extended to the garden design. The bamboo elements, anthracite-colored façade and concrete terrace provide a raw Japanese atmosphere. This is continued in the existing art, the wooden terraces, the pottery and the plants. In this way we make the optical connection between the interior and the garden.

During the last renovation, a concrete floor was cast around the rear of the villa that serves as a terrace. In the center of the terrace, a real eye-catcher has been chosen in the form of an infinity pool, adjacent to the lounge pit. The garden and surroundings are enjoyed in peace in this sitting pit. In order to add extra force to the experience of the garden, the wooded area has been highlighted, with which we also create depth in the garden design.

Large gestures and clear planting choice
The concept of planting is based on the presence of large sturdy gestures with an unambiguous planting choice. In contrast to the anthracite-colored wall of the house, a large multi-stem ornamental cherry has been chosen, which blooms explosively in the spring and shows its pink flower clouds. This gives a nice seasonal experience of the garden. At the front and the flanks of the villa, lush borders of ornamental grasses ensure a beautiful transition between the home, terrace, garden and landscape.

Studio REDD is responsible for the total design of the garden and construction supervision. For example, we selected the trees together with the client and we made a proposal for the furniture, pots, lighting and the swimming pool. This way we ensure a turnkey delivery.
