The palette stays restrained, but it is not flat. A grey stone-like countertop, matte tiles and the grain of the wood give each zone its own surface.<\/p>\n
In the kitchen, the composition is built from long horizontal lines and flush fronts. The countertop sits in a muted grey tone, with a stainless-steel tap and integrated sink bringing the working surface into focus. The kitchen does not isolate itself from the rest of the house; it holds the same materials and spacing as the adjoining joinery, so the eye moves naturally from one element to the next.<\/p>\n
The project began with the kitchen, utility storage, TV unit and desk. That starting point shaped the rest of the house. Once the first drawings were refined and the material choices were settled, the scope widened to include a dressing room, a bathroom vanity unit, a coat cupboard and a basin unit for the guest toilet. The interior joinery was then extended to the doors as well, including the sliding door to the bathroom. What reads as a calm whole today is actually the result of a sequence of decisions, each one tied to the next.<\/p>\n
The kitchen wall shows that process clearly. White cabinet fronts sit beside darker built-in volumes, and the oven is tucked into the joinery rather than treated as a separate object. Open shelving is used sparingly, mostly in niches where the shadow gap gives the wall more relief. This is where the custom built-in cabinets do their work: they keep storage close at hand, but they also control the visual rhythm of the room. Nothing feels added as an afterthought.<\/p>\n
Ceiling lighting is handled with small, dark cylindrical fittings and round spots that appear again in different rooms. Vertical lines in the wood front create a steady cadence, and the lighter edges around the units sharpen that rhythm. The custom built-in cabinets are quiet, but they are not anonymous. They frame the items the owners choose to keep visible, while the larger volumes stay in the background. That leaves the rooms open for personal furniture and accessories, which was clearly part of the brief from the start.<\/p>\n
The bathroom shifts the mood without breaking the project. Light tiles, a round basin and a freestanding bathtub soften the sharper cabinet lines seen elsewhere. The vanity sits against a pale backdrop, and a mirror wall helps the room catch the available light. In another view, the bathtub is placed beneath the window zone, with horizontal blinds set inside a dark frame. The room feels measured rather than crowded, with enough floor space around the tub to keep the composition clear.<\/p>\n
The bathroom vanity unit is handled with the same restraint as the kitchen and dressing room. A round basin sits on a clean cabinet line, and the surrounding finishes stay light enough to let the shapes stand out. The contrast between the circular basin and the rectangular tile grid gives the room a slower, softer pace. It is a small interior, but every element is positioned to let the surfaces breathe.<\/p>\n
Interior doors are often the first place where a project loses its consistency. Here, they are drawn into the same system as the cabinets and wall panels. The bathroom sliding door, in particular, extends the language of the joinery into the transition between rooms. Along with the coat cupboard and the lavatory basin unit, these pieces make the circulation spaces feel considered rather than leftover. Even the hall views carry the same palette of white, grey and dark wood.<\/p>\n
What stays with the viewer is not a single show element, but the way the rooms link up. A desk area sits beside storage. The TV wall uses the same calm framing as the kitchen. The bathroom brings in tile, glass and a round basin without leaving the palette behind. Because the fixed elements are disciplined, the house still leaves room for colour, artwork and personal pieces. That flexibility gives the custom interior design its value: the structure is in place, but the room for everyday life remains open.<\/p>\n
The overall effect is shaped by material choice as much as by layout. Grey stone-like worktops, pale ceramic tiles, white panels and dark veneer all appear in measured doses. None of them dominate.
