The whole composition feels built around curves: in the roof shape, in the volumes below it, and in the way the exterior openings are set into the walls. As a villa renovation, the project keeps those rounded gestures visible, while large glass panes and dark framing sharpen the contrast.

Rounded volumes under a thatched roof

The roofscape does a lot of the work here. Several roof slopes meet in an irregular silhouette, and the thatch follows those changes without flattening them. Below, the façade is broken up by broad windows and lighter wall surfaces, so the mass of the house never reads as one closed block. The curved design villa language is present in both the outline and the details around the entrance, where a dark green door set gives the front a stronger vertical accent.

Seen from different angles, the house alternates between softness and precision. Rounded edges appear in the upper structure, while the window rhythm stays straight and measured. That tension gives the villa renovation its character. The exterior does not rely on ornament; instead, the shape of the roof, the proportions of the openings, and the darker trims around the glazing carry the visual weight.

Pool and terrace arranged as one outdoor route

Outside, the pool and terrace form a clear sequence. Large stone slabs run along the water, and the edge detail is kept tight so the pool reads as a long, deliberate line in the garden. Around it, the planting stays low and open, with clipped grass and taller round planters marking the boundary without crowding the space. The result is practical in use, but also very legible in plan: walk, sit, swim, and look back at the house.

The pool and terrace area extends the villa rather than sitting beside it. A covered or projecting section of the house frames part of the terrace, while the rest opens toward the lawn and planting beds. This is where the large glass facades matter most, because they keep the interior visually linked to the garden. From inside, the terrace reads almost like another room, only set under open air and daylight.

Stone paving, planted edges and the long water line

Closer to the ground, the materials do the framing. The terrace slabs are large and rectangular, the pool edge is crisp, and the planting is kept in rounded containers that echo the house itself. Nothing feels overloaded. The geometry is enough: straight paving, curved rooflines, a narrow water surface, and the green of the lawn pulling the eye outward.

Custom interior finishes carried through the rooms

Inside, the villa renovation shifts from thatch and glass to timber, stone, and soft light. The custom interior work shows up first in the kitchen, where wall-filling wooden joinery runs across the room and wraps the appliances into the composition. A stone worktop brings a cooler surface into the scheme, while the island gives the room a central anchor. Above the sink zone, a glazed opening keeps the work surface connected to the outside light.

The kitchen is not treated as a separate display room. It opens toward the living area, so the island and the lower seating pieces share the same visual field. Darker wood tones, pale walls, and the stone counter keep the room grounded. In this part of the house, the custom interior is less about decoration than about control over proportion, storage, and the way the eye moves from one zone to the next.

Wooden kitchen joinery and the open living plan

The wooden kitchen joinery is the most dominant interior line. It stretches horizontally, which keeps the room calm even when the cabinetry spans an entire wall. A series of integrated elements disappears into that timber surface, so the joinery reads as architecture rather than loose furniture. The island repeats the same material language, but with a lighter top and rounded edges that soften the longer axis of the room.

From the kitchen, the view runs into the living space and back toward the windows. That open sequence is interrupted only by the furniture groupings and the curtain lines at the perimeter. The room relies on long sightlines, not on partitions. Because of that, the villa renovation feels larger than a simple room-by-room upgrade; the interior has been arranged as a continuous route from cooking to dining to sitting.

Light, curtains and the dining zone

The dining area is shaped by the windows before it is shaped by the table. Wide curtain panels soften the glazing, and several pendants hang above the centre of the room, giving the table zone a clear ceiling marker. A round glass-like chandelier appears in one view, while linear spots run across the ceiling in another, adding a second layer of light without making the room feel busy. The effect is controlled and architectural.

Here, the large glass facades play a quieter role than in the kitchen. They hold the garden in view while the curtains filter the brightness and bring the proportions of the room into focus. The chairs, table, and lamps sit within a frame of pale walls and darker accents, so the eye keeps returning to the long windows and the vertical drop of the drapery. It is a room built around light, but not flooded by it.

Bathroom details kept restrained and precise

The bathroom appears as a compact study in stone and reflection. A marble-look surface wraps the vanity and wall area, interrupted by a recessed niche and a mirror frame with integrated lighting. The drawer fronts below stay dark and quiet, which lets the veining in the stone read more clearly. Compared with the larger living spaces, this room is more concentrated, but it follows the same attention to line and finish.

Small choices carry the room: the bronzed tap, the illuminated mirror edge, the way the stone panel meets the basin line. Nothing is oversized. That restraint suits the rest of the villa renovation, where curves and straight edges are already doing much of the visual work. The bathroom simply repeats that discipline at a smaller scale, using stone, light, and fitted joinery instead of ornament.

Across the house, the rounded architecture remains the constant thread. It appears in the roofline, in the softened corners, in the curved furniture edges, and even in the circular planters outside. Because those forms are repeated rather than overexplained, the villa renovation feels coherent without becoming repetitive. The project moves easily from exterior to garden to interior, always returning to the same contrast between the soft roof profile and the sharper cuts of glass, timber, and stone.

A full villa renovation with a thatched roof, rounded architecture, pool terrace and bespoke wood interiors, from kitchen to bathroom.
"_yoast_wpseo_estimated-reading-time-minutes":"
2973,2983
post-1165154","hoog_project","type-hoog_project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","hoog_category-dining-room-ideas","hoog_category-kitchen-ideas
<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.4 (Yoast SEO v27.4) -
