The existing bedstee did not disappear into the background; it was folded into the design and given a new role beside the fire. Around it, the surfaces stay quiet. Large windows pull daylight across the rooms and soften the heavier parts of the monument. Curtains temper the view and break the reflections on glass, while the visible beams keep the ceiling readable from one space to the next. The route through the house feels open, with sightlines moving from sitting area to kitchen and onward to smaller built-in zones.
