The same idea appears in the surfaces. A white-green quartzite countertop runs through the kitchen and returns in the utility room, so the stone does not appear once and disappear. It is repeated in a second zone, where the material meets painted wall surfaces in the toilet and wash room. That green tone becomes a quiet thread through the house. It is not loud, but it is present enough to guide the eye from one room to the next.<\/p>\n
Several types of natural stone were used in the house, which could easily have made the rooms feel fragmented. Instead, the design relies on natural stone repetition. The same material language appears in different places and at different scales, so each stone finds a place in the composition. A stone surround around the fireplace, the quartzite counter, and the repeated stone details in the kitchen all speak the same visual language, even when the patterns differ.<\/p>\n
That approach is especially clear in the kitchen detail shots. The stone surface carries movement in its veining, while the cabinetry stays calm beside it. Matte black fixtures add a harder line against the pale counter, and the black-framed glass nearby pulls the room into sharper focus. Nothing is left to compete for attention. The custom built-in fronts and handles act almost like a framework. They do not draw attention to themselves, but they keep the rooms aligned. In the kitchen, the fronts sit against the stone and glass with a measured rhythm. Elsewhere, the same detailing helps the rooms feel related even when the function changes. The utility room, toilet, and main living spaces all share this discipline, which is why the house reads as one sequence rather than a series of isolated interventions.<\/p>\n
Black framed glass reinforces that sequence. The frames introduce a thin graphic border around the openings, and the contrast with the light interiors is strong but not harsh. Through those panes, the house keeps returning to the garden edge and the movement of light outside. The glass also sharpens the geometry of the rooms, especially where it meets the stone and the straight runs of cabinetry.<\/p>\n
The project does not rely on one striking element. It depends on repetition, proportion, and the way materials are reused. The quartzite countertop appears again in the utility room. The green extracted from that stone becomes wall colour in the toilet and wash room. The oak veneer accents reappear in calmer stretches of joinery. Even where the stone pattern changes, the line of the interior stays steady. That is what prevents the mix of materials from becoming too much.<\/p>\n
