Slaats chose door handle Icona<\/em> from the Olivari series. This door handle in chrome matte was designed by Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen, who paid great attention to ergonomics in this design. The door handle sits comfortably in the hand because of the rounded back of the handle. Instead, the visible front of the door handle is sleek and flat, creating a nice contrast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Asked about the reason for choosing this door fitting, Annemieke Slaats says, “I chose this fitting for its apparent simplicity. The shape is made up of whole and half circles and rectangles, and is very sleek. The refinement lies in the fact that the shape has not come at the expense of use. On the contrary, the rounded back makes the door handles ergonomically pleasant. You would almost say, “why don’t all door handles look like this”.
