To renovate their villa, the owners approached interior designer Catharina van de Leur of Interior Help in Bunnik. The villa dates from the early 20th century, and the request was to preserve the style and atmosphere of the property as much as possible. This has been amply met, with the latest safety and comfort regulations also observed. An optimal mix between aesthetics and technology was created. Intersteel supplied all door and window hardware for interior and exterior use. The property now meets all burglary prevention requirements according to the Police Quality Mark Safe Living and the SKG.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety and comfort<\/strong>
The monumental nature of the property means that there are a number of legal requirements to consider during the renovation. Thus, the villa needed to retain its historic appearance. On the other hand, the house ideally also had to meet contemporary requirements of safety and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catharina, together with Maarten ter Horst, Project Adviser at Intersteel, searched for a collection that would amply meet both stipulations. Maarten explains, “Catharina called me to ask if I could provide a recommendation with sampling for the purpose of this project. This included architectural issues such as maintaining the original details and returning doors, window frames, interior finishes and the facade to their original state. I went to see, inventoried everything and gave technical advice based on that. The choice for door and window hardware fell, after careful consideration, on model Bau-stil in the finish brass matte nickel. This fits the villa well in terms of style and design as well as technology. Critical consideration was also given to the application in terms of burglary protection.
