Round lines set the tone from the first step inside. The original interior offered them everywhere: in the half-round bay at the back, in the playful layout, and in the softened geometry that gave the house its character. The new modern warm interior<\/a> keeps that memory visible, but pares the language back. Cleaner edges meet the curves instead of erasing them, so the plan reads as edited rather than replaced.<\/p>\n

modern warm interior as the architectural starting point<\/h2>\n

The material palette stays close to the ground. Quiet earth colours sit with smoked oak, stone surfaces and bronze-toned details, while the lighter wall finishes stop the rooms from feeling heavy. In the kitchen, the stone worktop carries the longest line in the room, and the wood fronts add a firmer rhythm beneath it. That mix gives the wood and natural stone interior<\/a> its particular register: restrained, tactile and precise.<\/p>\n

Several surfaces are doing more than one job. The stone appears again as a counterpoint to the timber, while the darker metal elements sharpen the edges of doorframes and glazing. Seen together, they create the kind of interior where each material has a clear role. Nothing is decorative for its own sake. The custom kitchen wall, with its panel division and built-in appliances, turns storage into one continuous surface rather than a cluster of separate units.<\/p>\n

Round elements that return in more than one place<\/h2>\n

The house does not use curves as an accent; it repeats them until they become part of the plan. The half-round bay at the rear was retained and refreshed with a new opening, and the same rounded logic reappears in the kitchen island. Even the steel doors follow that softer geometry. It is a subtle way of keeping the original round elements design intact while bringing the interiors into a sharper, more recent register.<\/p>\n

That repetition matters because it connects different rooms without making them feel identical. A curve in the kitchen picks up the form of the stairwell. A rounded edge in the rear opening speaks to the glazed doors elsewhere. The result is a sequence of spaces that share one visual language, even when the functions change from living area to kitchen to circulation.<\/p>\n

Light from above, light from the back<\/h2>\n

High ceilings on every floor bring daylight deeper into the house than the window openings alone would suggest. The rooms feel tall first, then bright. In the lower level, the strategy becomes more direct: wider light wells and a large rear opening pull more sky into the plan. The effect is especially visible where the floor finishes and wall planes stay calm, allowing the daylight through large windows<\/a> to do the work.<\/p>\n

Glass plays a supporting role throughout. Slender black profiles frame the openings without taking over, and the long sightlines keep the rooms connected. In the living spaces, white curtains soften the larger windows rather than hiding them. The same approach appears in the gallery and on the terrace, where glass rails and open views keep the route light, even when the layout turns or narrows.<\/p>\n

A staircase with a round ceiling detail<\/h3>\n

The stairwell became one of the more difficult parts of the project. The original stair was not in a condition that could be kept as it was, yet the wish was to preserve the rounded stair core as much as possible. That tension is still visible in the finished space. Above the stairs, a circular ceiling light detail draws attention upward and echoes the round language found elsewhere in the house. It is a small intervention, but it gives the transition between floors a clear identity.<\/p>\n

The replacement of the original stair was handled with care by the interior builder, and the result sits comfortably inside the new scheme. White stair walls, a wooden handrail and darker treads keep the composition calm. The geometry is straightforward, but the rounded overhead detail prevents it from feeling purely functional. It becomes a pause point between levels, not just a passage. That makes the modern warm interior part of the architectural character rather than a loose finish.<\/p>\n

Practical choices hidden behind the surfaces<\/h2>\n

Behind the composed finish, the plan is built for daily use. There is a domotics system, double ovens and plenty of built-in storage, all folded into the rooms rather than added later. The storage runs tight to the walls, which keeps doorways open and sightlines clean. In the kitchen especially, this matters: the custom kitchen wall absorbs equipment and cupboards into one long volume, leaving the central floor area free to move.<\/p>\n

The project also looks ahead without announcing it. Preparations were made for solar panels, and the material choices favour surfaces that are easier to maintain. That practical layer sits quietly under the more visible design decisions. It is there in the hard stone, in the solid timber fronts, and in the way the joinery is detailed to withstand use rather than merely photograph well.<\/p>\n

What the rooms keep from the original house<\/h2>\n

The strongest link to the original building is not a single decorative feature but the way the curves keep resurfacing. The half-round rear opening, the rounded island, the steel doors and the stair core all repeat that starting point. Against the calmer wall planes and the straighter joinery, those shapes give the house memory. The renovation does not flatten that character; it edits it, using the old layout as a guide for the new one.<\/p>\n

What remains after the work is a house that feels more legible than before. The rooms still carry the original proportions, but the surfaces now move with more clarity. Stone, oak, glass and bronze-toned details hold the composition together, while the light from the windows and the tall ceilings keeps each space open. It is a measured interior, built around repetition, daylight and a few carefully kept curves.<\/p>\n

Detail views across living, kitchen and stair<\/h2>\n

The photographic series makes the sequence easy to read. In the living room, pale upholstery sits below tall windows and long curtains. In the kitchen, the stone countertop and wood panels create a firm horizontal band, interrupted by built-in appliances and narrow black lines. On the stair, the round ceiling detail and the glass doors nearby show how the project keeps moving between open and enclosed moments without breaking its visual thread.<\/p>\n

That consistency is what gives the project its strength. Each room has its own use, but the materials and shapes keep circling back to the same few ideas: round elements, daylight, stone, timber and slender dark frames. Because those ideas are repeated with restraint, the house never feels overworked. It feels edited, and every surface has been chosen to support the next one.<\/p>\n
