Ground floor apartment on the singel

Interior architect Remy Meijers was given a free hand for the design of this ground floor apartment on the canal, yet the future residents had a number of clear wishes. For example, they wanted a minimalist interior with free play for daylight. And a white kitchen diner was high on their wish list. The hull-furnished living space offered Remy enough possibilities to realize the wishes of his clients from his own design vision. By placing the kitchen centrally in the room, both the seating area and the dining area are bathed in a sea of light.

Thanks to a number of clear interventions, such as the remarkably spacious seating area, all elements are in harmony with each other. That is not only the case in the living room, but also in the other rooms of the ground floor apartment. The separation between the sleeping area and the wardrobe is both storage space and headboard. The sleeping area has lighting and bedside tables, while on the wardrobe side there is storage space for clothing, among other things. In the adjacent bathroom, tile wall and mirror provide a spatial effect. Various materials such as oak and natural stone appear in various places in the light interior. They contribute to the characteristic appearance of the ground floor apartment.
