Breathtaking Penthouse

The house located in Amsterdam is a beautiful backdrop for the artworks of the owner. The breathtaking penthouse is the result of a major renovation. Only the shell of the original more than 120-year-old building has been left intact. Everything else, including the classic herringbone floor and recessed ceiling, is tailor-made and designed for the clients. Because the owners brought their carefully curated art collection to this home, the penthouse is a mix of styles and souls. The kitchen, bathroom, floors, walls and frames of the windows and doors are specially made for the project and combine beautifully with the furniture and carefully chosen accessories in vintage shops. The color scheme is based on the colors deep brown, blue and green. The house’s masterpiece is the living room, where the layout of the space has been completely redesigned to create a living space on two levels. With a ceiling that suddenly “drops” in one part almost six meters down. The two floors are connected by a beautiful spiral staircase covered with hand-woven French stair cover. The penthouse also features a kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a study room and a small dressing room. At the entrance, a cobalt blue “island” acts as the center of the ground floor. The “island” also ensures effective routing within space. Housed behind the walls of the cube are a bathroom, a dressing room and a wardrobe, making it the perfect combination of form and function.
