Majestic townhouse

This special house with a typical Dutch classical charm dates from 1922. The current residents, in collaboration with an architect with a passion for houses from that time, have considerably expanded the house.

The new living kitchen, with adjoining utility room, forms the beating heart of the house. A playful contrast was chosen between three tough materials: wood, marble and steel. The special painting made by Lita Cabellut forms an extra focus point in the room and provides a surprising effect when you walk in. The doors and windows are made of steel with a soft coating, they form an elegant transition to the living room and garden.

The utility room is the place where the dogs come in after a long walk and can dry up. It is also the “laundry” where the washer, dryer, and ironing board are neatly and practically concealed in custom-made cupboards.

The house has been renovated from head to toe with respect and love for the style and glory of yesteryear. The authentic character is further emphasized by the dark marble floors and the beautiful old doors with beautiful profile, paneling and high baseboards painted in fresh white. The stately villa has many large and high rooms that offered perfect space for generous fitted wardrobes and shelves; they can be found throughout the house. Because the cabinets provide sufficient storage space, every room could be arranged to your liking, and the state-of-the-art custom-made work provides a rich look and a quiet background for the design. The lighting has been used to create an exciting contrast; the basic lighting is modern and the mood lighting is classic again.

The “master” bedroom is an oasis of peace; equipped with all conveniences and here again a lot of practical storage space so that the room can always look tidy. The adjoining bathroom is designed in the same style as the rest of the house, a combination of wood, marble and steel, but slightly different and fitting into the calm atmosphere of the bedroom.
