Modern wellness garden in Reeuwijk

At a fully renovated house in Reeuwijk we were allowed to design and lay out a modern garden that fully matches the style of the house and the modern interior with the theme “Wellness and lounging”.

The greatest wish was that the garden should not have subsided again after a few years. The area around the Reeuwijkse Plassen is known for the fact that the soil can settle considerably. As a result, surfacing surfaces and boundary boundaries subside.

To fulfill this wish, the majority of the garden is founded on long steel tubular piles. Hardwood frames in two different garden levels are mounted on these posts. Two spacious terraces have been created at the highest level. These terraces connect to the house. In addition, a deck with jacuzzi and outdoor shower has been created at the lowest garden level. This level connects to the fairway behind the garden. In the terraces, recesses have been made for the planters, where beautiful and varied planting has been applied.

Immediately after construction, the garden gave a lot of privacy and cozy corners. A black post wall provides “back cover” with the modern lounge sofa and a high and densely planted bamboo hedge, together with the brick strip wall with outdoor shower, provides the necessary privacy for the sunken Jacuzzi. Nice detail to know is that the type of stone strips in the outdoor shower completely corresponds to the applied stone strip wall above the modern kitchen top in the house. This way the atmosphere is extended from the inside out and vice versa.

In rainy weather, the thick cushions of the lounge sofa can be stored in a white garden cupboard with wooden doors specially made for this garden. This garden cupboard also bridges the height difference in the garden and is part of a large white planter in a stucco look.

The pavement in this garden consists of ceramic tiles of 60 x 60 cm, which are placed on filling rubbers on the wooden frame, and composite decking parts. The stairs are also made of the same floor parts. Due to this use of materials, the stairs will not become slippery and will not discolour.

These different surfacing materials indicate different functions: on the decking a comfortable lounge set with parasol has been placed, an elongated path of ceramic tiles forms the connection between the house and the decking near the water and the large tile terrace is furnished as a dining area with a black outdoor kitchen. Boretti.

The carefully chosen plants in this modern wellness garden require little maintenance and give the garden an atmosphere. The chosen subtle lighting also contributes to this.
