Monumental loft Amsterdam

This space is located in a 17th century. monumental canal house in the center of Amsterdam. It is now in use as a guesthouse of approximately 90 m2 that connects to the upstairs house of 180 m2.   In the high open space, a white, sculptural plastic is made with an intermediate floor. This includes various functions, such as a guest bed, a film wall, a pantry and a toilet. The wooden furniture includes a jacuzzi and a workplace.   All these functions are organically linked to each other by means of level differences and various stairs, so that the space can be “discovered” in a playful way. The atmosphere is determined by the chipped, old masonry and heavy floor beams under the ceiling. Modern plastic enhances this experience. An entrance to the garden has been created in the monumental rear facade.
