Poolhouse in Schilde

“Stylish solution for limited roof height”
This oak pool house in the backyard is not the only assignment that these owners from Schilde entrusted to Heritage Buildings. They had a beautiful oak country house built in the same backyard. This country house even has a full attic floor. Both oak garden buildings fit together perfectly and give the garden an authentic English landscape style.

Half roof pitch
Heritage Buildings developed a stylish solution for the pool house for the limited roof height. For example, the roof of this pool house was allowed to be a maximum of 3.5 meters high due to urban planning restrictions. Heritage Buildings stylishly solved this limitation by creating a half roof, finished with a flat roof in the middle. A completely flat roof would not fit in this authentic English country house style.

Private wellness
The pool house is equipped with all necessary comfort. The covered terrace contains an outdoor kitchen for long cozy summer evenings. Besides a shelter for the technical installations of the beautiful swimming pool, the oak pool house contains a sauna, shower and toilet. This building therefore not only offers relaxation opportunities in excellent weather, in autumn and winter the owners use it as a private wellness area.

Beautiful view of the garden
The authentic character of the building creates a calming atmosphere. The owners have a beautiful view of the garden from the large windows. The beautiful mortise and tenon connections that form the supporting structure and the classic four-compartment division in the windows provide extra authenticity. The windows were also painted white for a classic look. Painting in black was also an option for a modern look.

Interior planking in epicia
The inside of this oak pool house was finished with epicia planking. This softwood type is extremely suitable as a durable finish. As a rare coniferous wood, epicia does not tear and does not crack. To give the interior a light and airy character, the owners decided to paint the planks in white.
