Renovation Prinsengracht Amsterdam

The originally Dutch owner of the house on the Prinsengracht wanted to return to his roots after many years abroad. The building on the Prinsengracht was purchased as a “family home”, where the now fanned-out family members could return and stay to strengthen ties with family. Unlike the house in Canada, this house had to get Dutch allure, without excess of prints and decoration. Modern classic.

The living room on the first floor has been completely renovated with gas fireplace, lighting, renewed floor, paintwork, design radiators, upholstery and furniture. A cozy seat for a book, and a glass of wine to look outside or enjoy by the fire. The space was left in a dark state by the previous owners, fresh use of color with masculine blue and gray tones have made the space stylish, open and cozy.

The hall, the kitchen, the bathroom and bedrooms on the first floor were also all renovated. Not only a new lick of paint, but also electricity, lighting, renovation of the marble floor and new upholstery have been applied. The kitchen in the middle of the house is adjacent to no communal courtyard, providing it with natural light. The shape, however, left little room for a “standard” kitchen. The current kitchen has therefore been nicely renovated, tiles, lighting, wall cabinet and paintwork. The worn brick wall was original and has been left untouched for that reason. He gives the whole a tough look.

The master bedroom has new floors, paintwork, lighting, new furniture, new built-in wardrobe and of course upholstery. The sheepskin rug is very soft and feels very luxurious. The total atmosphere in brown and champagne tones makes it an elegant place to spend the night.

The second floor contained a completely open space with the high ridge of the point dat. Surprisingly, striking colors were chosen here. The five-meter striped carpet immediately appealed to the rest of the interior. A custom sideboard over the entire length of the floor, with which cupboard space is created. A long sofa where the whole family, young and old, can relax and watch TV. For the master of the house a relaxing armchair with a beer to watch the ups and downs on the Amsterdam canal during his stays in the Dutch capital.

The best compliment to receive from a customer; “I am very happy with my home! Exactly the idea I had in mind in terms of color and style; I love it !! ”
