Residence DL – DJ Bornem

A relatively limited interior assignment with a refreshing end result. In a new-build home of 5 years, the client wanted to finish the living space with the right elements. On the one hand, the client found the existing spaces a bit too open. There was no visual separation whatsoever between the kitchen, dining area and sitting area. On the other hand, there was a lot of storage space missing. The design therefore consisted in adding a few elements. Open library columns were placed between the kitchen and dining room, which separated the two zones. The library columns form one whole together with the existing fireplace. To ensure a soft separation between the seating area and the dining table, a low cupboard was provided in which a lot of material can be stored. This also provided power so that laptops, iPads… can charge. Finally, a cupboard wall was also provided in which a bar area and TV were integrated. Working with sliding doors also solved the problem of viewing by the neighbors. Finally, the ground floor was also fully equipped with new lighting, including pendant luminaires above the dining table.
