Residence VD Kruibeke

Within a typical Flemish farmhouse, the client wanted a warm minimalist interior. The dining room and seating area in particular were an eyesore: dark wooden beams, red terracotta tiles, exposed bricks … By removing all superfluous elements and adding 2 pieces of furniture, a whole new dynamic was created. The wooden beam structure was concealed behind a new plasterboard ceiling, the terracotta tiles were broken out and replaced by a pleasant cast floor. In the seating area it was decided to add parquet, which contributes to the warm, cozy atmosphere. The fireplace wall was provided with a dark oak veneer in combination with a natural stone plinth. A new wood-burning fireplace provides the right temperature in the cold winter months. In the dining room a hanging cupboard was placed under the horizontal window, so that the necessary storage space was also cast in a sleek shape.
