Villa De Dirksberg

Client says: “We are the second residents of a house that Engelman Architects designed in 1995. The house is located in the middle of wooded nature on the southeastern border of Roermond. In the design, the architect sought the optimal balance between living in a modern designed house and enjoying the surrounding nature. The house really forms a unity with the environment. We absolutely wanted to keep that unity. When we considered buying this house, it was therefore natural to discuss the desired adjustments with Engelman Architecten. ”

New layout

“The house is designed for two people. However, our family consists of five people. We were looking for a new layout so that we could comfortably live here with the five of us. We discussed our wishes with the architect and outlined the new layout of the house. ”

Bottleneck resolved

“The architect then came up with ideas for the adjustments and sketched them. The main bottleneck was a facade in the middle of the house. This was an obstacle for us. Engelman Architects designed a beautiful cupboard wall that on the one hand forms a pleasant partition between the dining and working areas of the living space, but nevertheless connects the two spaces in a very thoughtful way. Engelman Architects also designed a new, modern gateway to our plot. ”

Matches our way of life

“Engelman Architects coordinated the details and implementation with the interior builder, contractor and constructor. What we liked is that Engelman Architecten works efficiently. They are able to quickly identify the wishes and expectations and translate this into a rough design as a ‘talking piece’. The architect listened carefully to our personal experience of his proposals. This eventually led to a detailed design that really fits our way of life. ”

From 1995 and completely contemporary

“We now live in a comfortable house from 1995, entirely to our liking, which is still contemporary and forms a beautiful unity with its surroundings. Really a picture! ”
