Villa Perinne

JUMA architects was contacted for the interior design of a new-build hull apartment on the coast. Hull means that the structural work, the plastering, the screed and the techniques (central heating, plumbing, electricity and ventilation) have already been carried out.

However, it soon became apparent that the assignment could not be limited to mere interior design because the kitchen, bathroom and dressing provided were not logically designed. More radical renovation work was therefore required to meet the wishes of the customer. The structure was therefore slightly adjusted so that the bathroom and dressing could become a little larger and more functional.

Furthermore, there was a very large radiator in the living room that caught all attention. To solve this problem, new pipes were laid so that an integrated heating element could be provided in the dresser cupboard. Gas was brought into the kitchen for the cooking stove that JUMA conceived as a real eye-catcher. The sinks were then set up more discreetly.

For the floors everywhere was opted for a light oak parquet. The natural aspect of the wood gives all rooms a warm appearance. The fixed furniture was made to measure and is finished in black satin lacquer to contrast nicely with the light wood. The predominant color palette has been deliberately kept sober and neutral and is supplemented with light gray hues and color accents. A beautiful photo of the coast was chosen as inspiration.

The separate furniture and the decoration were also chosen by JUMA architects. The arrangement of the seating area is very playful and atypical. JUMA did not want a seat that divided the room into 2. The composition is intended to achieve a very open look. The choice for a round table follows the same reasoning. The round shape does not divide the space, but allows a smooth circulation.
