Stock Dutch Design\u2019 clients include not only individuals, but also families looking for a uniform home interior. They include those who value style and color and who like to surround themselves with lovely aesthetics, but who don\u2019t quite trust themselves to pull off the actual design without professional help. \u201cWhat they\u2019re actually looking for is a person they can rely on across the entire spectrum, from the structural aspects to the design itself. For example, they\u2019re looking for someone who can update a protected old building by giving it a modern feel and, of course, while retaining everything that makes it historically significant. But this person must also bring the type of legal competence to the table that this kind of conversion requires. They want to work with an architect who knows how to turn a sterile office into a cozy family abode. They hope to be challenged by someone who has ideas that they themselves never would have thought of. Ideas that bring some flair to the interior,\u201d says Leonie. In this respect, Stock Dutch Design is about more than architecture. It also handles interior design, building technology, color consulting, (furniture) design, specialty lighting, construction management, and style\u2014all in one company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leonie and Jeroen have such similar pasts that one would think it was fate for them to end up together. Jeroen was born in Cape Town, Leonie in Sydney. Both lived with their families in Singapore (but not simultaneously), later moving back to The Netherlands and getting their careers off the ground very quickly after graduating from college. They met in a professional context and discovered that they shared an entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for creating aesthetically pleasing designs and arrangements. They moved in together two days later and got married eight months after that. They motivate each other to reach new creative heights and encourage each other\u2019s entrepreneurial spirits. Jeroen\u2019s gift as a draftsman and consultant has developed further and nowadays he focuses on designing strategies and on designing interiors from an architectural and technical perspective. Leonie possesses a unique intuition for color schemes, details and composition. To her, the design process is a type of aesthetic celebration. However, she always gives due consideration to practical considerations and customer service in both small and large gestures. Leonie and Jeroen complement each other perfectly. They design interiors together as well as independently. Meanwhile, they are training a whole new generation of designers. They have young draftsmen, architects, and designers as members of their team. The offices on Scheldestraat and Van Eeghenstraat in Amsterdam were left behind when the company moved into the royal property of Huis Barnaart in Haarlem. On the ground floor, a passionate team creates new memories for clients and for themselves.
