Stefan Soenens is a trained civil engineer-architect. He completed his studies at KU Leuven and graduated in 1997. His education had a strongly technical focus, further reinforced by his optional subjects.<\/p>\n
For his compulsory post-graduate internship, he chose a large design office where all aspects of the building process were covered. Over the next five years, he gained experience across a wide range of disciplines, sharpening his expertise in construction and design. Within the office, he specialized in special technical systems while also beginning to develop his own independent architectural practice.<\/p>\n
Since 2002, his collaboration with the design office was gradually reduced in favour of his own professional activity. Today, his own practice has grown into a full-time commitment.<\/p>\n
The focus of the assignments lies in the renovation and restoration of existing buildings, a discipline that will continue to be further developed in the future. Most renovation projects also include a section of new-build architecture, although complete new-build projects are also part of the office\u2019s portfolio.<\/p>\n
