An extraordinary domain: a respectful renovation with various built-in technical comfort.

The result
We have chosen a surprising combination of old and new. One of the absolute eye-catchers is the thick glass plate in the floor that gives a view of the basement. The existing basement has been converted into an office and study area, which is partly below street level and has a beautiful view of the garden.

Pivot doors with glass dividers have been installed between the open kitchen and the hall, creating the desired open and stylish character. The conservatory can also be closed off from the living room by means of the same steel doors with glass. The original, large stained glass window and the niches in the hall have been retained and renovated. The bathroom has a soft wellness look with a separate bath under the sloping hood.

To create even more height and space, the maximum ridge height has been chosen on both the first floor and in the attic, with the beam structures still visible. Cuddly fabrics and area rugs have been chosen to create more comfort and warmth; beautiful opposites of the sleek, hard materials and lines of the doors. The wooden floors are made of coarse, extra wide planks, laid in a herringbone pattern, in combination with Belgian bluestone, underfloor heating and area rugs. After carrying out the design, Hora delivered the furniture and the beautiful accessories.
